ITN 159 | Pesky Kid (Saginaw, MI)

Whether you know him as Pesky Kid, or maybe Pierre St. Jupiter, or That Guy From Kickstand, or simply Ben, you probably know that his dude has a mind that is always ticking. We talk about books, music, the middle ground where art and content meet, and honestly a ton of other stuff that you’ll just have to listen to the episode to see for yourself. The one thing I’ll say for sure is that if you want to let loose and have a good time, go see a Pesky Kid show. And if you can’t do that, doomscrolling through his band’s content is a decent alternative entertainment option.

Thank you for listening. Air date: 3/24/2025.

ITN 158 | Danny VanZandt in the library with the steel guitar (Detroit, MI)

We’re (I’m) back (kinda)! For the first episode in nearly one hundred years, I interviewed my good friend and In a Daydream bandmate, Danny VanZandt. His new album “Proust in the Kitchen with the Wooden Spoon!” is now streaming everywhere, and I think it’s his most personal work from a lyrical POV, while also having an air of storytelling that makes some of the songs feel like they could be about anybody. We deep dive into the writing process and meaning behind almost every song, while reprising the good old fashioned Invite The Neighbors silliness. Stay tuned for more episodes dropping in the future, as I am looking to do one or two a month moving forward!

Thank you for listening. Air date: 2/17/25.

This week on ITN we chatted with Brenton, the singer of Australian punk band Catholic Guilt! Their new record “This is What Honesty Sounds Like” is out now via Wiretap records. We talked about a lot of shit, all the way from music to comparing the political issues facing Australia and the United States currently, making for both an entertaining and informative episode. Thanks for listening and enjoy! Air date: 10/12/2020.
