ITN 57 | Arcadia Grey (Indianapolis, IN)

Support the podcast and help keep it online by becoming a member of our Patreon! Every little donation helps and I really appreciate anything you can pledge! This episode is like Arcadia Grey’s live show: short, energetic, all over the place, and noisy (in the best way possible). We recorded this in Pat Ray’s basement before both of our bands played there that night, and we talked about as much as we could fit into the half hour we had before we had to set up for the show. Check out their music if you’re into loud, cathartic emo punk and definitely look for them to play live in your area because they tour a lot. Thanks for listening! Air date: 3/9/2020.

ITN 56 | Sincerely (Westland, MI)

If you’re a fan of the podcast and would like to help me keep it on the air, consider becoming a member of my PATREON which would be greatly appreciated! This episode features two members of instrumental math-rock band Sincerely. We talked about how the band got their start, favorite places to play, playing venues vs. playing house shows and the advantages of each, along with what Sincerely has in store for the rest of the year. Please share the podcast with a friend and thanks for listening! Air date: 3/3/2020.

ITN 55 | Fit The Bill (Port Huron, MI)

Please support the podcast by going to MY PATREON and becoming a patron! Even if you pledge 50 cents a month, every little bit counts and all goes toward paying to host more podcast episodes. On this episode, I had a nice time meeting the two halves of Fit The Bill. We talked about growing up homeschooled and having to beg your parents to listen to Good Charlotte, using Simple Plan to get through getting dumped in 6th grade, and the history thus far of Fit The Bill, among other things. They played a couple songs in the beginning for your listening pleasure as well. Enjoy and please share the podcast! Air date: 2/24/2020.

ITN 54 | Boyfrienders (Lincoln Park, MI)

Hung out with Benny from metro Detroit’s Boyfrienders! Their style is a cool singer-songwriter (but add synths) sorta thing with some catchy vocal hooks and straight-to-the-point lyrics. Benny and I had a lot in common from a standpoint of having a case of lead singer syndrome, and we also talk about how some people actually ENJOY the administrative side of being in a band. Hopefully you guys enjoy the episode and please share it! Air date: 2/20/2020.

ITN 53 | Prince Daddy & The Hyena’s Kory Gregory (Albany, NY)

Support the podcast and help keep it online by becoming a member of our Patreon! Every little donation helps and I really appreciate anything you can pledge! Yo! This is another Discord episode I recorded with Kory Gregory from Prince Daddy & The Hyena! Thanks to the homies on Twitter who mentioned this podcast when Kory tweeted about wanting to be on a podcast- you made this happen. Had a great time getting to know Kory over the interwebs and hopefully you’ll enjoy our conversation as much as we did. We got deep! Welcome if this is your first time checking out the podcast, and thanks for listening! Air date: 2/17/2020.

ITN 52 | Our Attic (Lansing, MI)

Met and hung out with 3-piece indie band Our Attic. The band performed some beautiful music in my living room and then we had a lovely conversation about a variety of topics both music and otherwise. They also braved a nasty snow storm to be on the show, so big thanks to them for not canceling! Do yourselves a favor and check out their music and enjoy the episode! Also don’t forget, if you’re a fan of the podcast and want to support it, go to patreon.com/invitetheneighbors and make a pledge! Even a dollar a month is super helpful if enough people get involved. Thanks guys! Air date: 2/10/2020.

ITN 51 | Mark Bosch from Stop Watch / Social Meteor (Ann Arbor, MI)

Episode 51 features Mark Bosch and myself chatting comfortably proximal on my couch about his two musical projects, Stop Watch and Social Meteor. You’ll have to listen to the episode to hear the differences and what they’re all about, hehehe. Stick around til the end to hear a new song from Stop Watch and make sure to go follow both on social mediaz. Thanks for listening everybody. Air date: 2/5/2020.

ITN 50 | Origami Angel/Equipment/Cheem/Parkway & Columbia/Loonbase Studios et al. from the Summit Shack (Bowling Green, OH)

Holy cow! 50 episodes! Thank you all SO MUCH for making this little passion project of mine relevant. I recorded this episode on-site at the Summit Shack during Equipment’s EP release show, which also featured Origami Angel, Cheem, Parkway & Columbia, and my band In A Daydream. I played the first set with my band and then set up a podcast corner in the Shack’s living room, where I got a chance to chat with members of all the bands listed above and more. I could not be more grateful to the Summit Shack crew for letting me both play the show and record this special episode of the podcast. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! Air date: 1/31/2020.

ITN 49 | Jake Rees from No Fun Club/Good Luck Charm Records (Royal Oak, MI)

Had a really awesome 1 on 1 conversation with Jake Rees about so many things that it feels inappropriately reductionist to try and sum it up in a couple sentences. Just listen and trust me that this is one of the best episodes yet. At least I think so anyway. I just feel like this was the type of conversation that represents what I want this podcast to be about as I move forward. Jake killed a performance of a new No Fun Club song in the beginning as well. Enjoy y’alls! Air date: 1/29/2020.

ITN 48 | Nick Brink from Sadgasm/DIY Merch-Making Extraordinaire (Salem, OR)

I recorded a podcast with someone over Discord for the first time! And that person was Nick Brink from Salem, Oregon, who is in the band Sadgasm and also makes DIY band merch to-order. Nick first heard about the podcast from when I co-released an episode with r/Emo’s “The ‘E’ Word” Podcast, and has listened to EVERY EPISODE WHAT!?!?! That is so cool to me, and I am so appreciative. And I’m excited because I figured out how to record remote episodes so this opens up the door to other guests who may not be able to be here in person. Hope you enjoy! Air date: 1/23/2020.
